Summer is quickly approaching and it is time to start planning for the
Fall 2010 Maritime Gift Show. Our buyers have told us that they need and want a
Show in September and we will work on putting together a Show worth attending.
The dates for the Fall Show will be September 11th- 13th.
It is time to make some changes to the format of our Show. The first you will
notice is that we will make the Fall Show a three-day
Show. This will hopefully help you with your costs. Our booth cost will reduce
to $760 plus tax and with one less day to be in Halifax you will also save on
food,
lodging
and your time. We propose
that we change our hours to allow for some extra selling time. We suggest a 9 am
opening with a closing at 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday, with Monday being 9 am- 4
pm.
The September Maritime Gift Show will see the introduction of
a
seminar program
intended to be of assistance to all retailers, not just gift. We have already
secured the participation of the Nova Scotia Ministry of Economy, Industry and
Tourism who will provide funding for the program and our first speaker, Brian
Watson,
Corporate
Strategist for the Ministry. We hope to create a program of
involvement and community for our local retailers where ideas and information
can be shared. Through the retailers input we can design seminars and
discussions to meet their needs and in doing so encourage participation in both
the Maritime Gift Show and the
afore-mentioned program.
We are also working
to expand
the umbrella of the September Show to include a greater range of product in
order to include a larger segment of the retail community. We hope that you will
participate and help create a Show that the Maritime Market needs and wants
to continue the tradition.
